Hi-Tech Metals offers in-house welding and fabrication as part of our complete sheet metal manufacturing service, allowing us to take laser-cut and folded components through to finished assemblies under one roof.
We’ve recently expanded our welding capability with the addition of three laser welding machines. Laser welding produces exceptionally clean, precise welds with a much smaller heat-affected area than traditional welding methods, helping to minimise distortion and significantly reduce the amount of grinding and finishing required afterwards.
For the right components, this means faster production, a cleaner finished appearance and considerably less post-weld processing.
Alongside our new laser welding capability, we also offer traditional MIG and TIG welding, giving our team the flexibility to select the most appropriate welding process for each job.
Combined with our two 12kW fibre lasers, extensive CNC folding capacity and in-house finishing capabilities, we can take components from flat sheet through cutting, folding, welding and fabrication efficiently within our East Tamaki facility.
